For the second time in two years, a body has been found at the Waste Management facility off Balls Ford Road.
Staff processing trash at the recycling center at 7911 Notes Drive found the man's body at 9:48 p.m. Wednesday, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
Police identified the remains as those of a 51-year-old man. They said it does not appear there was any foul play.
The cause of death is unclear. An autopsy will be performed at the Medical Examiner’s Office, police said.
The victim’s identity was not released pending notification of next of kin. Perok said officers are still investigating the death.
A little less than two years ago, a Newport News man was found dead at the same facility.
On May 21, 2010, James Edward Sessoms, 60, a homeless man who frequented the James River Bridge area of Newport News, was found dead at the facility on a refuse truck, according to Newport News police spokesman Lou Thurston.
Sessom’s body was among materials picked up from Newport News and was then transported to the Bull Run-area facility for recycling, police said at the time.
