Old Linton Hall Road in Gainesville will be opened to two-way traffic by noon today, Virginia Department of Transportation officials said.

The road has been limited to one-way southbound traffic only between Whitney Road and Lakeview Drive since mid-October, while construction crews installed a 24-inch water main as part of the Va. 29/Linton Hall Road interchange project, VDOT officials said in a news release.

Some striping work is still planned, and final surface asphalt will be placed in the spring, according to the release.

Details on the $267 million Va. 29/Linton Hall Road interchange project, set to be complete in 2015, can be found at www.virginiadot.org/projects/northernvirginia/gainesville_improvements.asp.
