A Haymarket man was charged with resisting arrest early Sunday morning after police said they found him walking unsteady in the road in Manassas Park.

Officers accuse Jamar Totio Martin of walking on the area of Va. 28 and Manassas Drive at 12:22 a.m., Manassas Park police spokeswoman Karen Barton said.

Martin reportedly resisted arrest by yelling and kicking at responding officers when he was arrested, Barton said.

Martin, 29, of Saint Paul Drive, was charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and being intoxicated in public, Barton said.

He was reportedly ‘too combative’ for a bond hearing, she said.

Martin has a court date of Mar. 15.

Police did not provide a picture of Martin.

Staff writer David Pierce can be reached at 703-530-3905.
