A Manassas Park man faces drug charges after a traffic stop in Manassas Park on Thursday, officers said.
Police pulled over a car occupied by Michael Paul McCarthy at the intersection of Manassas and Courtney Drives at 7:26 p.m. for a traffic infraction and reportedly found marijuana in the car, Manassas Park police spokeswoman Karen Barton said.
McCarthy apparently admitted to having the drugs, police said.
McCarthy, 21, of Kent Drive, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and has a court date of March 15, Barton said.
Police did not provide a mugshot of McCarthy.
