Potomac wins again

Winning continues for the Potomac Nationals.
The Nationals have won nine straight games following a 5-2, 10 inning win over the Lynchburg Hillcats on Tuesday in Lynchburg.
Potomac scored three runs in the top of the tenth to break a 2-2 tie.
Steve Doetsch and Jemel Spearman scored on Frank Diaz’s double and Chris Marrero scored on a wild pitch by Lynchburg pitcher James Barksdale.
Nationals pitcher Zech Zinicola surrendered a leadoff single in the bottom of the 10th, but retired the side with no additional damage to be the winning pitcher.
Zinicola (2-0) threw two and two thirds innings, walked one batter and recorded two strikeouts.
Potomac starting pitcher Jhonny Nunez turned in a better performance in his third appearance this year. He gave up one run on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
Potomac (9-2) took a 2-1 fifth inning lead. Edgardo Baez scored on a groundout and Seth Bynum crossed the plate on an Ofilio Castro single.
Lynchburg pushed across the tying run in the eighth on a single by Brian Friday. Potomac’s pitcher at the time was Carlos Martinez. Martinez tossed two and a third innings, allowed a run on three hits, walked one and struck out two.
Castro, Diaz and Devin Ivany recorded two hits for Potomac.
The Nationals recorded three stolen bases, one each by Castro, Bynum and Spearman.
