Sophomore Monica Wright (Forest Park, 2006) scored 21 points on Thursday night to lead the Virginia women’s basketball team to a 67-57 victory over Boston College.
Wright, who surpassed 1,000 points for her career in less than two seasons, helped the Cavaliers clinch a first-round bye in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.
Lyndra Littles finished with 16 points and Sharnee Zoll added 10 assists for Virginia, which improved to 21-8 overall and 9-4 in the ACC.
The Cavs wrap up the regular season with a home game against Georgia Tech on Sunday.
