P-Nats stay hot, score 10 runs in victory

The Potomac Nationals head home for six games following their second straight win over the Kinston Indians.

The Nationals beat the Indians 10-2 on Tuesday behind another outstanding offensive performance. One night after scoring 17 runs on 17 hits, Potomac scored 10 runs on 14 hits.

It scored two runs in the second inning, four more in the third and four more in the sixth.

Marvin Lowrance hit his third home run in two nights. Lowrance's 10th blast of the year was a three-run shot that came in the sixth with one out.

Lowrance went 3-for-4 and also had a double.

Aaron Seuss, recently called up to Potomac from Low-A Hagerstown, hit his first Carolina League home run. It was a solo shot in the sixth.

Seuss finished with two hits, scored three runs and had a double and two RBI.

Daniel Lyons is also making his presence felt in the Nationals' lineup. He went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Francisco Plasencia had a double and two RBI in four at-bats.

Andrew Lefave, another new addition to Potomac's lineup, was 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

Brian Peacock was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Nationals starting pitcher Justin Jones moved to 3-1 after allowing a run on five hits in five and two-thirds innings. Jones also walked one and struck out two.

Reliever Carlos Martinez gave up a run on two hits in two and a third innings.

Josh Wilkie pitched a perfect ninth inning and lowered his ERA to 0.95.
