Furr scores twice in loss
Raymond Furr had two goals and one assist in Woodbridge’s 7-4 loss Friday to Stone Bridge in the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League championship game.
Tony Cordova and Patrick Beech each had a goal for the Vikings, while Dylan Talbot had one assist.
TJ Cuneo was in goal for Woodbridge and made 51 saves.
Furr and Cuneo were named to the NVSHL First Team.
Woodbridge finishes the season 12-1.
Former Hylton football player inks with Montreal
Former Hylton standout Karibi Dede has signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, the team announced on Friday.
Dede, a linebacker at Auburn, had 57 tackles during his senior season in 2006. He participated in training camp with the New York Giants this season, but was released by the team on Aug. 27.
The Alouettes finished 8-10 in 2007, placing third in the East division. They qualified for the playoffs, but lost 24-22 to eventual Grey Cup finalist Winnipeg.
Montreal’s current roster includes former Virginia Tech running back Mike Imoh, former Mi-ami running back Jarrett Payton and former Maryland running back Bruce Perry.
