Evangel Christian volleyball team wins ODACS state championship

Sophomore outside hitter Jasmine Morrow earned most valuable player honors and the Evangel Christian School volleyball team extended its winning streak to 58 consecutive matches by capturing the Old Dominion Association of Church Schools state championship on Saturday.

Middle hitter Amber Taylor and setter Krissy Lambert were also selected to the all-tournament team after the Eagles (20-0) swept Heritage Christian 25-7, 25-18, 25-14 and Fairfax Baptist 30-28, 25-12, 25-21 to clinch the state title.

Morrow combined for 20 kills and 25 digs in the finals against Fairfax and finished the season with 315 kills. Taylor had 11 kills and 20 digs in the championship match, while Lambert contributed 25 assists.
