Evangel Christian volleyball opens season with victory

The Evangel Christian School volleyball team opened the season Tuesday with a 26-24, 25-19, 25-19 victory over Fairfax Home School. It was the Eagles’ 59th consecutive victory.

Junior outside hitter Jasmine Morrow had 15 kills and nine digs, while junior middle hitter Amber Taylor had 12 kills and 10 digs for Evangel.

Setters Janette Lambert and Krissy Lambert combined for 22 assists.

>> GAR-FIELD 3, PARK VIEW 0: Dani Ferguson had eight kills and Carolynn Bravo served seven aces as the Bulldogs opened the season with 25-21, 25-12, 25-22 victory on Tuesday.

Rose Mock and Julia Nelson teamed up for 24 assists.

>> HYLTON 3, MANASSAS PARK 0: Kelsey Sweeney had seven kills and 10 service aces to lead the Bulldogs to a season-opening 25-12, 25-23, 25-9 victory over the Cougars.

Caitlin Thomas contributed five aces and Hayley Racine finished with 10 digs.
