Eric Hayes (Potomac High School) will participate in a three-day mini-camp at Verizon Center with the Washington Wizards. The camp begins Thursday with one session. There will be two sessions on Fri-day followed by one more on Saturday.
The former University of Maryland standout is one of 16 players to be invited to the mini-camp in prepa-ration for Washington's participation in the Las Vegas Summer League.
The Wizards open up July 11 against Golden State followed by games July 12 vs. the L.A. Clippers, July 15 vs. Dallas, July 16 vs. New Orleans and July 17 vs. the New York Knicks.
Among Hayes' teammates will be guard John Wall, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. The Wizards' two other picks, Clemson forward Trevor Booker, who was taken No. 23 overall, and Rutgers center Hamady N`diaye, who was taken No. 56 overall, are also scheduled to partici-pate.
