University of Virginia senior guard Monica Wright has been named to the John R. Wooden Award National ballot that decides the women's 2010 Wooden Award All-American Team and Player of the Year, an honor presented annually to the nation's top collegiate female basketball player.
Wright, the 2010 ACC Player of the Year and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, was also named an All-Region nominee for the 2010 State Farm Coaches' All-America Team.
The Forest Park High School graduate led the league in scoring (23.3 points per game), steals (3.6 per game) and 30-point games.
Wright is Virginia's all-time leading scorer with 2,506 points and counting. That total ranks third on the ACC's career scoring list.
