HENRY CAMPBELL
Sophomore, Osbourn
While swimming year-round for QDD Aquatics, Campbell broke a Virginia Swimming record in the 400 freestyle that had stood for 29 years and qualified for the Junior Nationals in four events, although he did not participate to spend more time with family.
JACOB CROASDELL
Senior, Battlefield
After placing 14th in the 400 freestyle at states last season, Croasdell should provide needed veteran leadership to a team that lost a lot of its depth to graduation and to newlyopened Patriot High School.
CATFISH DUNN
Senior, Seton
Dunn was a consistent performer for Seton throughout the season, but the postseason was when he was perhaps at his best. He finished seventh in the 100 butterfly and eighth in the 100 backstroke at states. He also finished seventh in
the backstroke at the National Catholic Championships at Villanova University.
GREG STOFFA
Senior, Osbourn Park
Last season’s News and Messenger’s Swimmer of the Year, Stoffa is probably the area’s top distance swimmer, having won the 400 backstroke at states in all-American time. He also placed sixth in the 200 individual medley at states and is a versatile swimmer who is fluent in all strokes. He is also one of the area’s hardest working swimmers making him a contender to repeat as Swimmer of the Year depending upon how he performs.
SAM STRONKO
Junior, Osbourn Park
After reaching the state finals in two individual freestyle events last season and finishing eighth in the 200 freestyle, Stronko is back, determined to match or improve on that showing. He was also a key component of several Yellow Jackets’ relays last season.
