"When I scored against Battlefield on a 63-yard run. It was my first score as a varsity player. It was pretty exciting."
How did you become a quarterback?
"One day I just started throwing the ball. I tried out for middle school football and I just became a quarterback."
Why do you like playing quarterback?
"You are the leader of the team ... You always have the ball in your hands and you can do whatever you want with it."
Who is your favorite player?
Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Cam Newton. "He was just unbelievable at Auburn and he won a championship there."
What is the significance of wearing No. 2?
McMillian chose that number this season to honor Newton, who wore No. 2 at Auburn last season in winning the Heisman Trophy and leading the Tigers to the national championship. "We both have the same type of style. He can throw and run and that's what I do."
Second-year coach led the Hylton Bulldogs to a second-straight 10-0 regular season with a first-year starter at quarterback who was a sophomore and a defense that returned only three starters from last year ... Hylton averaged a district-high 35.4 points per game and allowed an area-low 8.9 points per game during the regular season ... Overall, the Bulldogs finished 11-1 and won their playoff game since 2005. .. also during the regular season, they defeated two playoff-bound teams on the road with a 35-14 win over Battlefield and a 28-14 win over Colonial Forge.

The 5-11, 210-pounder Byrd finished as the area's leading rusher this season with 1,849 yards and 24 touchdowns and tied for the scoring lead with 146 points ... he rushed for a school-record 314 yards and six touchdowns against William Monroe in the first round of the playoffs ... named the Bull Run District's Offensive Player of the Year and second-team all-Region B.
Slowed by injuries last season that limited him to three games and 58 rushing yards, this first-year starter at running back took off and was the Eagles' go-to player on offense in reaching the playoffs for the fourth straight season ... finished as the area's second-leading rusher with 1,463 yards and 22 touchdowns ... also tied John Byrd as the area's leading scorer with 146 points ... all-Northwest Region and all-Cedar Run District.

A first-year starter at center, the 6-foot, 200-pound Francis used his athleticism to dominate at his position ... also a standout linebacker for the Bulldogs, who was all-Cardinal District at both spots this season ... he was second-team all-Northwest Region at center.
Returning starter and a repeat News & Messenger All-Area performer, the 5-10, 190-pound Kargbo was the team's best blocker and best guard this season for an offense that totaled almost 4,000 yards and averaged 36 points per game ... all-Cedar Run District and second-team all-Northwest Region.
The team's only returning starter on the offensive line, the 6-3, 260-pound tackle provided experience, quickness and size with a good fundamentally-sound understanding of how to play the position ... also a three-year starter at defensive tackle ... At 6-3, 215 pounds, Roscoe was a great blocker this season for the Indians, while also contributing as a receiver with 11 receptions for 175 yards and one touchdown ... a second-year starter who was all-Northwest Region and all-Cardinal District.

Third-year kicker who is a repeat News & Messenger All-Area performer ... the 5-10, 203-pound Boteler converted 50 of 51 extra-point attempts and six of seven field goal attempts, including one for 41 yards ... also had 42 touchbacks ... named all-Northwest Region and all-Cedar Run District ... an excellent punter as well who averaged 36.8 yards per kick and placed 10 of his punts inside the 20-yard line.
A versatile and talented athlete, the 5-10, 175-pound Williams showed off his speed this season, returning three kickoffs for touchdowns ... he averaged 38 yards per kickoff and was named to the all-Northwest Region and all-Cardinal District team.
This 6-3, 290-pound tackle/nose guard is a three-year starter who was voted the top lineman on both sides of the ball in the Cardinal District this season ... Wilkins finished with 81 total tackles, nine sacks, 27 tackles for loss, three fumbles caused and one fumble recovery ... all-Northwest Region ... major Division I recruit with offers from Virginia and Boston College so far.

First-year player for the Bulldogs after transferring from Colorado, where he was a two-year starter in high school ... nicknamed "Big Red," the 6-3, 280-pound Wilcher was a challenge for opponents to block and often times faced double teams ... finished with 68 tackles, nine tackles for loss and five sacks ... named all-Northwest Region and all-Cardinal District.
Second-year starter, the 6-5, 245-pound Hand dominated opponents up front this season ... the Cardinal District's Co-Defensive Player of the Year, Hand finished with 84 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 21 sacks and three fumble recoveries ... also named second-team all-Northwest Region ... major Division I recruit who already has offers from Boston College, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, N.C. State and Rutgers.
The Northwest Region Defensive Player of the Year and the Cardinal District Co-Defensive Player of the Year, the 6-4, 230-pound transfer from DeMatha made an immediate impact for the Bulldogs ... Levenberry finished with 152 tackles, eight sacks, 34 tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles and five interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns ... major Division I recruit for the class of 2013 who has at least 19 offers, including ones from Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma.
Second-year starter, the 6-3, 210-pound Newman was very effective from the inside with his speed and size ... finished with 116 tackles, including 62 solo, and three interceptions ... all-Northwest Region and all-Cedar Run District ... also caught 18 passes for 305 yards.
A three-year starter, the 5-9, 180-pound Smith was the Bobcats’ best open-field tackler .. he finished with five blocked kicks and 85 tackles ... second-team all-Northwest Region and all-Cedar Run District ... also rushed for 839 yards and 11 touchdowns and was named second-team all-region as a utility player.
First-year starter who was the Eagles’ top defensive player ... the 5-11, 165-pound Lane finished with 48 tackles and four knockdowns ... all-Cedar Run District and second-team all-Northwest Region ... also started at quarterback and threw for 1,096 yards and an area-high 14 touchdown passes.
A second-year starter and three-year varsity player who played both free safety and strong safety this season, the 6-1, 195-pound Bailey provided excellent coverage for the Indians in the secondary ... finished with three interceptions, including one for a touchdown ... all-Cardinal District and second-team all-Northwest Region.
